Come & Try Motorkhana Day 15-01-06

I am just letting you know that Holden Sporting Car Club Qld Inc is holding a Come and Try Motorkhana at Willowbank Raceway (behind the dragstrip) on 15 January 2006.

As HSCCQ is running the Australian Motorkhana Championship next year, it would be wonderful if we could get as many clubs as possible competing in motorkhanas throughout next year and showing a strong presence at the AMC - truly representing Queensland, not just one club:-)

If any of your club members would like to get into this popular entry level category they would be more than welcome. Competitors as young as 12 can also compete. Motorkhanas as specifically designed to benefit junior drivers, giving them good skills to call on when they finally get their civil driver's licence.

The cost of the come and try is $35.00 entry fee. If you are going to use a road registered vehicle (and there is no reason why you shouldn't) then you will need to contact your CTP Insurer and get an extension. Some Insurance companies charge for this but Suncorp provides it for free. If you currently do not hold a CAMS licence of any sort you can get a day licence for $20.00. These will be available at the venue on the day. If you want to bring along friends or relatives and they do not belong to a CAMS affiliated club, then a club day licence will also be available for $5.00.

We should have a date for the AMC early next year and we hope to have the support of all car clubs in making it the biggest and best yet:-)
